Wine Enthusiast

This wine offers high-toned cherry amidst a fresh, acidic backbone. The secondary characteristics are defined by cedar, forest floor, coffee and leather. Light in body, this is a great crowd pleaser.

spacerforwp2Treanna 2013treanna

2013 Treana White is a deep gold color and exhibits lush aromatics. Bold aromas of honeysuckle, pineapple and orange oil prepare the palate for a wine of complexity and balance. The smooth entry leads to rich flavors of blood orange, peaches, and apricots along with subtle hints of dried herbs and finely ground white pepper. The 2013 vintage brings a racier wine than we have seen traditionally in our white wine blend. The long, well-balanced finish is matched by a lean crisp acidity that lingers in the mouth. Treana White has a trusted history of aging beautifully for 10 years or more.

Bradford Mountain 2012 Grist Vineyard Zinfandelbradfordzin

“High-toned raspberry and smoky oak aromas lead to zesty flavors that pop with jammy fruit and accents of cinnamon and spice.”

spacerforwp2

Stag’s Leap Chardonnay 2015slwchard

Aromas of bright lemon citrus, fresh green apple with hints of subtle elderflower fill the glass and pique your interest in this crisp Chardonnay. On the palate, you’ll find a classic refreshing Chardonnay with a vibrancy of citrus that transitions into lemon curd while also maintaining a roundness in texture that is balanced (hinting at the delicate battonage lees stirring during the winemaking process). With a nutty hazelnut undertone and spicy white pepper, exotic floral finish, this wine is focused, yet generous in style and maintains freshness due to its acidity which creates a Chardonnay of lovely complexity and depth.

spacerforwp2

V12 500 Special Cabernet Sauvignon 2010v12500

Lively aromas (black cherry, a liqueur like quality), good color in the glass and decent acidity. The tannins are there but do not over power the palate. This is a wine you can drink now or certainly cellar a number of years.

Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

beaujolais

Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

What is this? It’s the third Thurday in November (this year November 16th) and the day when the newest vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau is released for sale. The day is met with festivals and parties and tastings and celebrated throughout France. bdlogo

Beaujolais Nouveau is made from the Gamay grape grown in the Beaujolais province of France. It was created as a “vin de l’année” to celebrate the end of the harvest season. All grapes must be grown in Beaujolais and must be harvested by hand. It is bottled very young, after only a few weeks of fermentation and is meant to be enjoyed immediately. Because it is so young it has a very fresh, fruity and clean taste.

This year The Wine Vault is has a selection of Beaujolais Nouveau from several different producers across Beaujolais. Come in and see what we’ve got and pick up a bottle (or three). Stage your own festivities!
